SVHC's (Substances of very high concern)

A substance of very high concern (SVHC) is any chemical substance, the use of which has been proposed within the European Union to be subject to authorization under the REACH regulation. If a substance is carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic for reproduction, bioaccumulative or with scientific evidence of probable serious effects to human health or environment, it is then listed as SVHC. In fact, importers are expected to inform the European Chemical Agency if the total quantity of SVHC in their products is greater than 1 ton per year.
